Due to the rise of generative artificial intelligence, the imminence of quantum computers, and ever-stringent industry compliance regulations, preemptive cyber defense (PCD) is becoming an essential strategy within the cybersecurity domain. As seen in Figure 1, automated moving target defense (AMTD) is the top use case, along with threat simulation and automated exposure management.
AMTD is based on the military premise that a moving target is harder to attack than a stationary one. AMTD works to disrupt or confuse the attacker from gaining a foothold in the environment, and if so, remaining there.

HyperSphere is a Preemptive Cyber Defense Product Leader
As a product leader, HyperSphere provide a PCD solution that provides at least the following aspects:
  • seamless integration with existing systems without adding to the administrative workload of the security team;
  • seamless integration within diverse third-party ecosystems;
  • minimal impact on current operationally continuity;
  • reduction in the number of security tools;
  • ease of deployment including cloud deployability; and

HyperSphere does so by way of, for example, its SecureStorage™ solution offered under the HyperSphere® brand. SecureStorage protects data before it is even written to disk. The data is secured down to the file level and indeed the frame level using AMTD strategies.
To elaborate, SecureStorage encrypts the data, by frame. The encryption key for that frame is hidden in fourth-dimensional space, namely, the intersection of two hyperspheres in space and time. The process happens again for the next frame wherein a new, wholly independent key is re-seeded automatically until the process is complete. Not only are key vulnerabilities eliminated but a single object may contain thousands of keys that can never be lost, stolen, or misplaced, providing additional defense-in-depth against physical and cyber threats. Moreover, complex and costly key management systems are eliminated, without adding to the administrative workload of the security team.
SecureStorage is also future-proof. The PCD tool is able to use any cipher to encrypt the data. To comply with current DoD and NIST requirements, SecureStorage employs AES-GCM 256 and does so at less than < 1% overhead, all with confidentiality, integrity, and resiliency on demand.
The AMTD-based SecureStorage solution may be seamlessly integrated into existing systems through its S3-compatible interface. HyperSphere offers a comprehensive range of deployment options tailored to meet the diverse needs of organizations. Such options comprise on-premises deployment, cloud deployment, hybrid deployment, managed deployment, virtual appliance deployment, hardware appliance deployment, or containerized deployment.

HyperSphere is also a product leader in yet another important aspect. It is the first and only solution to have a published NIST National Checklist hardening guide, derived from NIST 800-53 rev5, and aligning to both FISMA and DoD IL4 baselines:
